How we got started
Established in 2022 Chicken Town Hatchery & Hens had a dream to hatch chicks and raise chickens but do so in a way that is sustainable, affordable and fun. Curating our flocks to offer some of the best sexed linked and auto sexing breeds ensures you have only hens.
Having purchased the property in 2010, I knew right away our first endeavour was raising chickens. We started out modestly with a flock of 40 but as our family would grow I would take a step back until the timing was right. Over the years as my family grew, I had a feeling deep down that raising chickens was an integral part of who I am. I started a fresh with a new flock a few years ago and slowly continued to build on my knowledge and love of poultry, hatching and raising of chicks while offering my expertise to new chicken owners.
We hatch year round
We offer chicks and pullets year round. Our Vancouver island climate allows us to hatch weekly and offer a variety of breeds year round. This includes offering fertilized hatching eggs. With multiple breeding coops, grow out coops and brooding boxes we are well equipped to raise our flocks under a canopy of trees on our forested acreage.
